In the accompanying diagram, two electronic energy levels of a diatomic molecule are shown, and in balloons at the side, the appropriate vibrational and rotational energy levels. If the rotational constant (B) is 6 cm-1, calculate the ratio of the number of molecules expected in the J=2, n=1 state of the excited electronic state relative to the number of molecules expected in the J=1,n=0 state of the ground electronic state assuming a temperature of 1200°K .
