Director

Dana McGee
Director

Dana McGee signed on as the Director of the Office of Diversity and Equity in July 2002. In her current position, Ms. McGee oversees functions that promote and monitor the diversity and inclusiveness of work environments across the University's six campuses. These key areas include: The Unclassified Search Process; the University's internal and external Discrimination Complaint System; services and complaints related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and Diversity Training for Faculty and Staff. Her dual experience in law and recruiting prepared her for the various roles she now plays as the Director of the Office of Diversity & Equity.

Ms. McGee earned her law degree from Boston College Law School, and a degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Following law school, Ms. McGee practiced as an Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she worked as a litigation attorney for a mid-sized law practice, and a Director of Administration for the management-consulting firm, Emily Christopher Associates, Inc. After relocating back to her hometown of Vernon, Connecticut, Ms. McGee served as a Contract Attorney and Placement Director for The Law Registry in Hartford, and then accepted a position as Manager of Executive Research and Recruitment for The Hartford Insurance Company. Leveraging her recruiting and law practice background, Ms. McGee provides strategic and tactical leadership in support of the University's commitment to diversity.

Case Management

Mary Signor
Assistant Director & Case Manager

Mary Signor signed on as the Assistant Director and Case Manager for the Office of Diversity and Equity in October 2005. In managing a heavy caseload of employment law matters as a Staff Attorney with the Northeast Area Law Department of the United States Postal Service, Ms. Signor traveled extensively throughout the Northeast handling investigations, leading depositions, developing case strategies, and representing the government agency before external civil rights enforcement units, and administrative law bodies.  Her appearances and motions practice immersed her in issues arising under Title VII, the Rehabilitation Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Privacy Act.

Ms. Signor regularly advised the agency on complex legal and factual issues, conducted extensive legal research, and drafted successful motions for findings and conclusions of law.    In addition, Ms. Signor worked with upper level management and labor relations representatives on disciplinary matters prior to the issuance of letters of warning, notices of suspension and removal, and appeared before the Merit Systems Protection Board.

Ms. Signor has held progressively responsible positions, beginning her legal career as a Legal Research Clerk for the State of Connecticut Superior Court in New Haven, and a Legal Secretary for the law firm of Withers Bergman LLP in New Haven.  She earned her law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where she received awards for Outstanding Legal Scholarship, Oral Advocacy, and a Distinguished Academic Achievement Award for her work in Law and the Humanities.

Kelly Jones
Paralegal & Legal Administrator

Kelly Jones signed on as the Paralegal and Office Manager for the Office of Diversity and Equity in January 2004. In her current position, Ms. Jones provides a broad range of legal administrative management and research support across the University's six campuses ensuring effective coordination, integration and efficient operations of the major organizational components of the Office of Diversity and Equity at UConn.

Ms. Jones earned her Associates degree in Legal Studies at Indian River Community College, Fort Pierce, Florida. While in Florida, Ms. Jones practiced as a Paralegal at the Law Office of Thomas R. Garland, specializing in Family and Criminal Law. She then moved to Connecticut, where she earned her Bachelors degree in Legal Studies, cum laude, at the University of Hartford, College of Women. Ms. Jones interned at the Law Office of RisCassi & Davis, specializing in Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. Upon completing her degree, Ms. Jones worked as a temporary Paralegal for Counsel Hounds.

Ms. Jones is a current member of the National Paralegal Association, National Federation of Paralegal Association, Association of Legal Administrators, and a commissioned Notary Public.

Ms. Jones brings 14 years experience in office management, technical support, customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution, providing strategic and tactical support of the University's commitment to diversity.

Hanna Prytko
Search Compliance Coordinator

Hanna Prytko signed on as a Search Compliance Coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Equity in January 2005. In her current position, Ms. Prytko is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of search files and related records and data that are essential to the operation of the office and the University's efforts to comply with federal and state record-keeping requirements.

Ms. Prytko is responsible for responding to daily inquiries from search committee administrators and representatives across the University regarding the search process, workforce and job category profiles, and hiring activities. Ms. Prytko also assist with the units Affirmative Action Plan Coordinator and Employment Systems Analyst & Researcher to complete the University's Affirmative Action Plan for Employment.

Katherine Kenyon
Search Compliance Coordinator


Katherine Kenyon signed on as a Search Compliance Coordinator for the Office of Diversity Equity in March 2006. In her current position, Ms. Kenyon is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of search files and related records that are essential to the operation of the office and the University's efforts to comply with federal and state record-keeping requirements.

Ms. Kenyon is responsible for responding to daily inquiries from search committee administrators and representatives across the University regarding the search process and hiring activities. Support Staff

Dawn Barrett
Secretary

Dawn Barrett signed on as the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Diversity & Equity in March 2005. In her current position, Ms. Barrett performs a full range of administrative support functions within the office. Ms. Barrett is accountable for evaluating and screening incoming telephone calls and inquiries, effectively managing the Director's calendar, preparing and maintaining correspondences, reports and presentations, and processing office paper flow. Ms. Barrett applies best practices in office reception and represents ODE to internal and external constituents and the public. As a member of the staff, Ms. Barrett assists academic/administrative divisions develop and implement policies and programs that promote a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Dawn gained experience in all aspects of office management at the Center for Children with Special Needs as a Secretary for five years.
