Undergraduate Research Grants


Undergraduate Research Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have demonstrated strong potential within the humanities and who are conducting a research project for either an honor thesis, or other independent work closely supervised by UConn faculty. Undergraduate Research Grants of up to $1000 cover the costs of expense for the research project (e.g., research travel, photocopying and similar expenses).
*Undergraduate students must be officially enrolled for credit at the University to utilize Research Fellowship funds. Deadline: Rolling Application.

Undergraduate Student Awards


Undergraduate Student Awards of $250 are available to support undergraduate students' short-term research projects in the Humanities. The awards cover primarily research related budget expenses ( e.g., research materials, travel, photocopies).
*Undergraduate students must be officially enrolled for credit at the University to utilize Student Awards funds. Deadline: Rolling Application.

*Note: Both graduate and undergraduate fellows are expected to present their research in informal talks to the UCHI fellows and staff.

Undergraduate students who have received a UCHI grant or award are expected to acknowledge the University of Connecticut Humanities Institute in publications resulting from work supported by the Institute.
