Administrative- Fill out Admin Huskyvision Service Request Form to activate service in an existing jack or to install coax cable to the room.
- A cable-ready TV. If your TV is not cable ready you will need a cable-ready DVD/VCR.
- A coaxial cable to connect your TV to the HUSKYvision faceplate (the faceplate with only a coax outlet). Coaxial cable connectors are available at the UConn Coop.
Students
HUSKYvision is active in all residence halls. No activation call is necessary to receive HUSKYvision. You only need to provide the following:- A cable-ready TV. If your TV is not cable ready you will need a cable-ready DVD/VCR.
- A coaxial cable to connect your TV to the HUSKYvision faceplate (the faceplate with only a coax outlet). Coaxial cables are available at the UConn Coop.
- How do I hook up my TV or DVD/VCR to HUSKYvision ?

Simply connect your coaxial cable into the HUSKYvision faceplate (the faceplate with only one coax connection) and the input jack on your cable-ready TV or DVD/VCR. Coaxial cables are available at the UConn Coop.
If you have a DVD/VCR, connect your coaxial cable from the cable INPUT to the HUSKYvision faceplate. Then connect the OUTPUT jack from your DVD/VCR to the INPUT jack on your TV.

- Using a switch on the front or back of your TV / DVD/VCR, it is often concealed by a door or panel.
Using your TV / DVD/VCR remote, select "set-up" or "menu" to prompt an on-screen display.

- Make sure your TV / DVD/VCR is set to receive cable. See How do I set my TV / DVD/VCR to receive cable?
- Using your TV / DVD/VCR remote, select "set-up" or "menu" to prompt an on-screen display. Select and run the autoprogram function.
- Why am I only getting channels 2 - 36?

- How can I determine if my TV is cable-ready?
- If your TV has a dial that you must manually turn to tune in channels, then your TV is most likely not cable-ready. You may use a cable-ready DVD/VCR with your television set to receive HUSKYvision. See How do I hook up my TV or DVD/VCR?
- If your TV was purchased within the last 7 years or if you can use your remote to enter channel numbers, then there is a good chance that your TV is cable-ready.
- I lost the remote control to my TV / DVD/VCR and am having problems programming it.
Some TVs / VCRs require the original remote control to access the on-screen programming features. If this is the case and you can not access the on-screen programming features with a universal remote control, then you will need to consult your owner's manual and/or call the manufacturer to order a replacement remote control. - I receive all channels, but the lower ones are fuzzy, why?

HUSKYvision is a University service for on-campus institutional use only and is not available off-campus. Therefore, HUSKYvision is available in all residence halls, academic and administrative buildings on campus. HUSKYvision is also available in some of the fraternities and sororities located on the campus.
Set your TV / DVD/VCR to CATV, CABLE or STD, not antenna.
After you have set your TV / DVD/VCR to receive a cable signal, you will need to autoprogram it. You may also need to autoprogram your TV after any power outage or if your TV / DVD/VCR is unplugged.
Make sure that you have properly hooked up your TV / DVD/VCR, set it to receive cable and have properly run the autoprogram function. If you are still only receiving channels 2-36 it is possible that your TV / DVD/VCR is limited to 36 channels. If so, you will need a fully cable-ready TV / DVD/VCR to receive HUSKYvision's full range of programming.
If you are only getting channels 2 - 13, your TV is probably set to receive an antenna signal and not a cable signal. See How do I set my TV / DVD/VCR to receive cable? or How can I determine if my TV is cable ready?
In order to receive HUSKYvision, you must have a cable-ready TV, DVD/VCR or converter box. To determine if your equipment is cable-ready, check your owner's manual. If you do not have the owner's manual here are some guidelines to determine if your TV is cable-ready.
If you have followed the instructions under How do I hook up my TV or DVD/VCR? and your channels are still fuzzy, make sure that your coaxial cable is connected securely and that it is of good quality. You may need a new cable. If a new cable does not solve this problem, call HUSKYvision at 486-4357.
If you have followed the instructions under How do I hook up my TV or DVD/VCR? and you are still not receiving any signal, call HUSKYvision at 486-4357.
All regional off-air channels and many satellite stations are in stereo on HUSKYvision. Therefore, if programming is produced in stereo and is transmitted in stereo by the local affiliate, then anyone with a stereo capable TV / DVD/VCR should receive audio through HUSKYvision in stereo.
