FAQ - How can I obtain my transcript?

 

How can I obtain an official or unofficial transcript?
Students at Storrs and the regional campuses can request official transcripts of their academic records by writing to the University of Connecticut, Office of the Registrar, Wilbur Cross Building, U-4077T, Storrs, CT 06269-4077.   Requests can also be faxed to the Registrar at (860) 486-0062 with or without using a form.

All written requests must include:

  • full name (including any other names you may have used while attending)
  • date of birth
  • Student Administration System (PeopleSoft) log-in number, if known
  • dates of attendance
  • complete and accurate addresses of transcript recipients including ZIP codes, and the requester's address and telephone number in the event that there is a problem with the request.
  • a daytime telephone number in case of problem
  • your signature

Requests must be signed even if they are faxed. There is no charge for transcripts. Request forms can be completed at the Registrar's Office, Wilbur Cross Building on the Storrs campus. These forms are also available at the regional campus registrars' offices for mailing or faxing to the University Registrar at Storrs.

Students wishing to receive transcripts from the School of Dental Medicine, School of Medicine, or the School of Law must obtain them directly from the school in which they were enrolled.  For information on obtaining transcripts from the School of Dental Medicine call (860) 679-2175, for the School of Medicine, call (860) 679-8186, and for the School of Law, link to their Registrar's website or call (860) 570-5136. 

Since we need your signature, we cannot accept phone requests.  Regular e-mail requests are not acceptable, but those that include clear scanned or photographed images can be used.

Can I obtain a transcript at a regional campus?

Yes.  Request forms for official transcripts can be obtained at the regional campus registrars' offices for mailing or faxing to the University Registrar at Storrs.

Students can obtain an unofficial transcript by presenting a photo I.D. in person at the Office of the Registrar on the campus they attend. However, students should call the regional campus registrar in advance to make arrangements for transcript pickup.

How can I get a transcript at Storrs?

Request forms for official transcripts can be completed at the Registrar's Office, Wilbur Cross Building on the Storrs campus.

Students can obtain an unofficial transcript by presenting a photo I.D. in person at the Registrar's Office at Storrs.

Can I have a transcript mailed to my homeand/or to myself?

Students can request that their transcripts be sent to themselves . Note, however, that such transcripts are stamped "issued to student in a sealed envelope" and the envelope bears a similar stamp and a facsimile signature. Students are cautioned that some recipients will not accept transcripts that have not been sent directly to them.

What could restrict getting a transcript?
Official transcripts may be withheld by appropriate University officials if some financial or other obligation to the University remains unmet.  Restrictions can be made by:
How can my transcript arrive more quickly?

You could send your request by any rapid service mail.  However, transcripts are sent out ONLY by US Postal Service first class mail or Express Mail/Priority Mail; for the latter, the request must be accompanied by a pre-paid and pre-addressed Express Mail/Priority Mail envelope. Alternate carriers (e.g. UPS, Federal Express) are not an option.

Can I request a transcript by telephone or the web?



You cannot request a transcript by phone, but you can access your unofficial transcript through the PeopleSoft student administration system.
