Welcome to the Fall 2007 Office of the Registrar virtual fall meeting for academic departments!

Mindful of how busy academic departments are at the beginning of the school year, but still desirous of conveying information about some recent initiatives, reminders about student records privacy, important deadlines for the upcoming year, and to provide an updated staff listing, we decided to use the web.

All of the links on the left contain important information. Latest updates are on the right. I call your attention, in particular, to the Course Renumbering link. The new course numbering system goes into effect in Summer 2008. Departments will begin seeing the new four-digit numbers September 2007 when we send materials relating to Fall 2008 course offerings to the departments for review and updating. The Course Renumbering web site provides information on the status of the project to date, including the new and old course numbers for each department.

Working with the University Privacy Officer and the Connecticut Attorney General’s staff, we have developed an online tutorial on the federal law on student education record privacy. For more information, see the FERPA Tutorial link on the right.
