Climbing Center

UConn Climbing Center

The UConn Climbing Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Recreation
Facility and covers over 2000 sq. P. of climbing space. It is composed of 15 top rope
sites and a bouldering only area. Whenever the Climbing Center is open, our staff is
ready to assist you with your climbing needs.

Orientions

All climbers using the facility must first complete a Climbing Center Orientation.
Registration for Climbing Center Orientations is done on a first come/first serve basis
at the Student Recreation Facility front desk (open 8:30AM-9:00PM, M-F.) Registration
must be done in person, no phone-ins will be taken. Orientations are limited to 6 -12
parJcipants per class, last approximately two hours, and are free of charge to all SRF
members. Successful parJcipants will have their UConn ID’s acJvated and be enJtled
to use the facility during open climbing hours. Failure to pass the skills test will require
the parJcipant to enroll in another orientation at a later date.

Renewals

Renewals are conducted on an annual basis at the beginning of each fall semester.
Renewals require parJcipants to complete a climbing skills test. If you have previously
completed a Climbing Center Orientation and require a renewal to have you UConn ID
reacJvated for Climbing Center use, please see a Climbing Center staff member during
open climb hours for assistance.
