October, 2010. How memories are born. Drs. Etan Markus, James Chrobak and Monty Escabi and grad student Jamie Bunce report in the Journal of Neuroscience that memory encoding in older rats can be improved by stimulating the medial septum with acetylcholine. In this UConn Today interview, Dr. Markus discusses implications for human aging.


September, 2010, Dr. Stephanie Milan has been awarded a Fulbright Award to support research and teaching in Kenya.


September, 2010: UConn Psychology 2nd nationally in federal research funding, 4th in all research funding, as reported by UConn Today, based on an NSF analysis

September, 2010: Robots and Autism. An article in UConn Today reviews research on innovative Autism interventions using kid-friendly robots being conducted by Drs. Anjana Bhat, Deborah Fein, Kerry Marsh, and grad student Tim Gifford.


May, 2010, When Men Stare, Women Say Less. Dr. Diane Quinn was interviewed by UConn Today about this research,which appeared in Psychological Science, co-authored by grad student Tamar Saguy, and Drs. Felicia Pratto and Jack Dovidio.


April, 2010, Exploring the Origins of Language. This UConn Today article reviews Dr. Marie Coppola's research on "homesign" systems developed by isolated Deaf individuals and their families and friends in Nicaragua.


April, 2010, Dr. Jeffrey Fisher named a Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor.
