Biographical Note:
Guillermo Rebollo Gil (PRLS/Sociology) received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida,
Gainesville, with a concentration in Race and Ethnic Relations. His research focuses on the sociology
of culture, race and racism, and the intersectionality of race, gender and ethnicity. His interests
include whiteness studies, Puerto Rican and Latin@ literatures, film and media studies, and popular
culture. He has conducted inventive workshops geared toward deconstructing and debunking
stereotypes and stereotypical thinking. Some topics include: “Color Blues: The White/Black Racial
Dynamic in the Latin@ Community,” “Do Latinos Need Feminism?” “Men Against Sexism,” and
“Forgotten Warriors: Non-Black Minorities and Racism.” Dr. Rebollo Gil has taught at the University
of Puerto Rico (Río Piedras; Bayamón), the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and
Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. In addition to being the author of three poetry books-"Veinte", "Sonero" and "Teoria de Conspiracion," he is published in journals such as American Behavioral
Scientist and Race, Ethnicity and Education.
