Your Responsibilities
- Affix your permit to the lower inside right-hand passenger side of the front windshield. Do not apply the permit in any other way as it will be considered a violation and subject your vehicle to ticketing.
- Do not use your garage keycard without affixing your garage permit as described above.
- Obtain a temporary permit if your regular vehicle is unavailable and display it on the passenger side of the dashboard.
- Know where your permit type allows you to park and park in those designated areas Monday through Friday 7am - 5pm, unless posted otherwise. After 5pm and on weekends you may park in any legal parking space that has not been restricted, reserved for a specific vehicle, or otherwise limited as to its use. However, overnight parking is not allowed in commuter lots between 1 am and 5 am.(Link to Parking Map)
- Do not park at Charter Oak, Hilltop, Mansfield, and Northwood Apartments without a valid permit twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
- Notify Parking Services of any vehicle changes
- Provide a copy of any state handicap permit to Parking Services
- File a lost/stolen report with Parking Services if you are no longer in possession of your permit
- Maintain valid registration and insurance
- Pay all outstanding parking fines in a timely manner
- Do not share your parking permit with anyone or you will subject the vehicle to ticketing and towing and expose yourself and others to disciplinary action. Any misuse of a University permit can result in the revocation of parking privileges for a minimum of one year, possible arrest and sanctions available through the courts and student code of conduct.
- Do not share your garage permit or keycard or your keycard will be disabled for one month (while attending classes). A second offense will result in the revocation of your garage permit and the issuance of a permit that only allows parking in C Lot. The difference between the cost of a garage permit and a commuter permit WILL NOT be refunded.
- Do not misuse a State Handicap parking permit or you will be subject to ticketing, booting or towing and the misused permit will be confiscated and returned to the issuing agency. Your parking privileges will be revoked for a minimum of one year.
