• In the event of  snowy and icy conditions, every attempt is made to continue running buses and AVS vans, based on the following:

      • “Early Release of non-essential employees:” Buses and AVS vans will operate for 90-minutes beyond the employee release time; We will begin to take buses off the road as road conditions deteriorate. Few if any areas are missed, remaining buses are normally put on “super loops” which entails one to four buses servicing all stops on campus that are safe to service.

      • “Late reporting for non-essential employees:” Buses and AVS vans will begin operating 30-minutes prior to the reporting time for the non-essential employees. Service may be limited, but will be expanded as road conditions improve and bus stops are cleared of snow and ice.

      • “Cancellation of classes:” If classes are cancelled for an entire day, buses and AVS vans will not operate at all.  If classes do not cancel but snow continues to fall throughout the evening hours and roads ice-up, buses and AVS vans will continue to operate until a determination is made that it is no longer safe to do so.

      • Our automated phone system (486-1448) will be updated accordingly. Notification of our intentions are sent out as quickly as possible on the appropriate University listservs; WILI and WHUS radio are also notified.
