Tips for Avoiding a Ticket

  • Observe and obey signs
  • Never park in fire lanes, on lawns, sidewalks or unpaved areas
  • Never park in reserved/restricted spaces
  • Park in between two white lines
  • Do not park in a handicap space unless you have a state issued handicap permit and a university issued permit
  • Make sure your permit is properly displayed
  • Report a disabled vehicle to the UCONN Police Department at 860-486-4800
  • Know where your permit allows you to park (link to Parking Map)
  • Don’t leave your vehicle in a “No Parking” area with flashers on
  • Observe time limits in load zones
  • Report a missing permit to the Parking Services Office immediately
  • Do not share your permit and/or keycard
  • If you are unsure, ask.
  • Notes left on vehicles will not be accepted in place of a permit or as a valid reason to be in violation of any parking regulation or posted sign.
