The Rhodes Scholarship
The Rhodes Scholarship is awarded to seniors and recent graduates with the potential to become national leaders. The Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships are considered two of the most prestigious awards offered to students from the United States. For both, students must have unusual depth in their academic interests, and exceptional records of focused contributions to society. Rhodes scholars study at the University of Oxford. Marshall Scholars may study at a University in the UK. For this reason, candidates interested in Oxford should apply for both the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships. In their applications, students must justify their choice of Oxford and explain why it fits their educational needs.
The pre-application for nominiation deadline for next year’s Rhodes Scholarship competition is April 1, 2012 .
