Students & Partners

This project would not be successful without the participation of the following people and groups:

  • MC Extension Council
  • Rockfall Foundation
  • Drs. Mark Westa and Kristin Schwab
  • Students of the Landscape Architecture Program
  • Mike Ott, PE, Nathan L. Jacobson, Inc.,
  • John W.Deering Incorporated
  • The rain garden project was partially supported by grants from the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Long Island Sound License Plate Program, and the Connecticut Water Resources Institute.

Students

Fifteen students began working on developing a site plan for the Middlesex County Extension Center in the winter of 2000. They worked with the Educators from the Center to incorporate best management practices promoted by each of the Educators Programs. Their first presentation of ideas, held in the Centers Annex, was a great success and resulted in a refining of site elements. Fifteen drawings were combined to five! The final five were presented and refined again resulting in the final site plan.
