News and Announcements

  • USPS Rate Increase May 12, 2008 - go to usps.com for details

  • Passport News
    Check out travel.state.gov for the new fees, and for the new Passport Card.  This Card is for the frequent land and sea traveler to bordering countries, Bermuda, and the Caribbean, for $45. age 16 and older, and $35. for under age 16. Production of this Card is expected to be in full swing by this July. This Card may not be used for air travel.

  • Shape Based Rates

    Last May rates were dependent on the shape of your domestic mail.  This May, May 12, 2008, International mail rates will also be based upon shape. Go to usps.com for complete, new rate information.

  • NEW USPS DOMESTIC EXPRESS, ZONE-RATED POSTAGE

The new postage rate on the Domestic Express Mail Flat Rate envelope is $16.50 regardless of weight or destination.

Express Mail rates for local zones 1 and 2, for 2 pounds or less, are less than the Flat Rate. For example, a Domestic Express Mail item, weighing 1 lb and destined for 06101 (Hartford) NOT using a Flat Rate envelope, only costs $14.55   A 2 lb Express Mail item going to 06101 costs $15.70, saving the mailer $1.95 and  $.80 respectively.

DO NOT use Express Mail Flat Rate envelope when sending 2 lbs or less to zones 1 and 2. DO NOT use Express Mail Flat Rate envelope when sending ½ lb to zone 3
