A Very Different "Galut" (Diaspora)
Professor of American
Jewish History at New York University, her major interests
include American Jewish history, American immigration
history and women's history. Author of several books,
including A Time for Gathering : The Second
Migration, 1820-1880; Lower East Side Memories: A Jewish
Place in America; and Her works
Praise Her: A history of Jewish Women in America From
Colonial Times to the Present. She holds
a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and is a Fellow
of the American Academy of Jewish Research.

office of Senator Daniel P. Moynihan, a Ph.D. in Government

Harvard's Russian Research Center. He was Senior Fellow
at the Center for Strategic and International Studies
and Editor, Post-Soviet Prospects. His essays
and op-ed pieces appear in Commentary, Wall Street Journal,
New York Times Sunday Book Review, The New Republic,
Der Spiegel, Washington Post, Boston Globe,
and others. His latest book is The Return
of Anti-Semitism.
