Dr. Harvey Gotliffe teaches journalism and media at San Jose State University and holds a PH.D. in Radio, TV, Film from Wayne State University.

 

He has published  book chapters and articles in consumer, scholarly and online publications.  Two articles will appear in the 2006 edition of Encyclopedia Judaica on “The Jewish Forward” and “The Jewish Press in America.”

 

Since 1985 he has conducted research on Holocaust denial advertising in university newspapers, and authored a 70-page monograph  used by students and media editors.  He has published in Perspectives (UK’s Holocaust Museum’s magazine), and spoken on the subject at conferences in the United States and Israel.  He recently published two articles in Hadassah magazine on the Jews of Lithuania.

Gotliffe has been involved with the Holocaust Survivors Group and the Japanese-American community in Northern California. He visited sites of Nazi concentration camps  as well as the Manzanar Internment Camp,  and attended the Tule Lake Internment Camp Pilgrimage in 2004. He also conceived of the “Gathering of Friends” bringing together 25 Holocaust survivors and 25 former internees for a day of sharing life stories.
