Students Scream for Ice Cream
As Printed in The Daily Campus - November 30, 2005

Attention all ice cream enthusiasts - now is your chance to have a say in what the Dairy Bar's new flavor will be.
Beginning at noon Thursday, three flavors that could possibly end up in the Dairy Bar's repertoire of ice cream varieties can be sampled at the Student Union. This event is being held in honor of the 125th anniversary of UConn's founding. Students will be able to interact at this event by submitting paper ballots at the Student Union as well as online votes on the UConn homepage deciding which of the new flavors will be selected.
This event is brought to the student body by David J. Dzurec's First Year Experience class, who spent much of Tuesday developing the sweet treats destined to make the student body a little more jolly this December.
After the selection of the new flavor, the next round of the balloting will begin. The responsibility of naming the flavor will then be bestowed upon the students. Those with a uconn.edu e-mail address will be able to participate in this decision. Of course, these students' creative talent will not go unrewarded - the creator of the selected name will be recognized and receive a prize.
The last leg of the flavor celebration will take place on Feb. 10, as the student body will gather again for SUBOG's annual One Ton Sundae. At that time, the name of the new flavor will be revealed. |
