Research and Colloquia
Faculty in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies (HDFS) are engaged in a wide range of theoretical and applied research related to gerontology. Current investigative study topics include family caregiving, life course transitions during adulthood, attribution theory and locus of control in later life, long-term care, planned housing environments for older persons, psychosocial aspects of life-threatening illness, family leave policy, and generational equity issues. Gerontology faculty in HDFS are known nationally and internationally for their contributions to the field.

This popular monthly series brings together interested members of the community and university graduate students and faculty in order to share ideas and exchange new findings.
