Configure a Shared Mailbox in Outlook 2003/2007

 

Open the Control Panel by accessing the Windows Start Menu then Contol Panel.

In the Control Panel open the Mail icon.

Click the Show Profiles button.

Click the Add button to begin the process of creating a new mail profile.

Create a descriptive title for the profile of your Shared Mailbox/Department e-mail account. Select OK to continue.

Select the option to Add a new e-mail account.

Select the option for Microsoft Exchange Server.

In the Exchange Server Settings dialogue, ever the following settings:

Microsoft Exchange Server exchange1
Use Cached Exchange Mode unchecked
User Name Enter your dept/shared resource account name here (ex: resource0177)
Check Name click this button to populate remaining settings from the server

Click the NEXT button and you're done!
