Publishing, English 3011 C, stresses writing for profit as well as fun and provides information about professional writing opportunities and about the book and magazine publishing industries. (With the advent of a non-computer based version of English 3011, concentrating on the book business, our focus in 3011C will be chiefly, but not exclusively, on magazines)

The web versions of fall 2009 Publishing Class mock magazines are now going up on the web. Check out Modern Technology, a magazine for technophiles, College Chic a fashion and lifestyle magazine, EP,a wide ranging music magazine, and East Coast Sports, a magazine for lovers of big time teams in the east.

Publishing class students should check out earlier student web sites and magazines archived at Publishing Class Magazines.

Two other useful sites, especially for seniors, are two concerned with on-line and emailed resumes:The Riley Guide to Resumes and a Boston College Guide to writing samples.
