Financial Records System
FRSPLUS
This primarily vendor application package purchased from Systems and Computer Technology, Inc. utilizes a DB2 database, CICS for user inquiries and transaction generation, and FOCUS extract files for more complex user inquiries and data manipulation. FRS supports the myriad of functions related to the procurement of goods and services, the resultant payment of vendors, the recording of University revenues and expenditures, and the final reporting of total University financial resources through a comprehensive financial reporting capability. The various functions are organized withing four application modules: Fixed Assets, Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Purchasing.Human Resource Management

This primarily vendor application package purchased from Genesys Software Systems, Inc. utilizes a DB2 database, CICS for user inquiries and transaction generation, and FOCUS extract files for additional user inquiries and data manipulation. Functions include tracking and updating of payroll, payroll deductions, retirement data, earnings history and longevity. State application systems for which interfaces are provided are payroll, human resources, retirement, and time/attendance. An interface with the FRS system feeds encumbrance data to the FRS budget module. - Human Capital Management System
As an effort to bring the University's human resource system up to current technology, the Human Capital Management System project is underway. This is a multi-year effort to provide enhanced services and information to the University's human resource funtction. This iniative will provide improved information about faculty and staff to assist those that manage thses resources more effectively. Identification System
NetID The NetID systems is used to identify all current University students, faculty, staff, and associates/guests for certain computing services such as: eBudget, ePortfolio, CPIA Tutoring, Library E-Delivery System, Law School Web Applications, Onecard Online Account Management, WebCT/Vista, NetReg (Network Registration), Huskymail (Student Email), Exchange (Faculty/Staff email and calendaring), Proxy, Wireless Login (Bluesocket), VPN and Student Affairs' services; Studio Abroad, Virtual Career Fair, and WebCentral.
Note: The list of services will grow, until many of UConn's computing services allow you to use a common ID and password to login.
Student Administration System
This primarily vendor application is used to support the Student Administration System database which organizes and distributes bio/demographic and student data to the departments at the Storrs and Regional campuses and professional schools. The system supports the University business processes of:
HuskyCT (formerly WebCT/Vista) is an integrated set of web course tools
that can be used to supplement a class taught mostly face-to-face
or one delivered entirely online.
HuskyCT at UConn
HuskyCT is the primary web-based course management system supported
at the University of Connecticut. It is supported through a partnership
between the Institute
of Teaching and Learning (ITL), the Instructional
Resource Center (IRC) and University
Information Technology Services (UITS). It is also the primary
delivery method for Electronic
Course Reserve (ECR) through the UConn Library.
