Schedule and Content: Chapters 15-24. Midterm exam on Chapters 15-20. Final Exam on Chapters 21-24
and material presented in class on the euro and related topics. The Final Exam is given on the last day of class.
We
discuss balance of payments accounting, exchange rate theory and the foreign
exchange market, policy issues related to the foreign exchange market, exchange
rate regimes, open economy macroeconomics, direct foreign investment,
international lending, financial crises, European integration, and the euro.
