The 2009 Annual International Day celebration featured three speakers from the Caribbean on the theme of Social Work and Natural Disasters. Presenting were Dr. Peta-Anne Baker and Aldene Shillingford of the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and Dr. Letnie Rock, University of the West Indies, Barbados. Participants enjoyed a luncheon featuring foods representing diverse regions, and a rich array of cultural displays portraying countries represented in the student body. Additional displays highlighted topics of global concern and interest, including reproductive rights, liberation theology, and social work at the United Nations.
