| TEMPUS GRANT- European Training Foundation
This grant was jointly administered by the London School of Economics
(LSE) and the Fachhochschule in Frankfurt Germany (Frankfurt). Primary
activities involved travel between Armenia and London and Armenia and
Frankfurt. Most of the YSU social work faculty spent some time at the
London School of Economics. British and German social workers made several
trips to Armenia during the three years of the grant. This grant funded
computer hardware and software and other equipment to assist in teaching
social work content. The grant also funded the development of two distance
learning sites that have enrolled students in the social work Bachelor’s
program in two small cities in the earthquake zone. Each week, class
materials that are the same as those used on the main campus are sent to
teachers and students in the distant locations. A very important
contribution of this grant was to fund the initial issues of the scholarly
journal, Social Transition, published by the Armenian Association
of Social Science, the major publication site for documenting the
evolution of social work as a profession in Armenia. |
