Readings, lectures, seminars, and field applications exploring content
and associated scientific and social implications of current topics in
agricultural, environmental, nutritional and health sciences. |

Foreign Study Introduction to Research in Agriculture and Natural Resources

Prerequisite: Open to freshmen and sophomores only, instructor

be assigned a final grade of S (satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory).
Supervised student involvement with faculty projects to introduce students
to current areas of research in their field of interest. |

Organization and Policy
First semester. Two credits. One 2-hour lecture period.
A course designed to acquaint the student with the history, objectives,
policy, administrative procedures, organization and methods used by the
Cooperative Extension Service. Special consideration will be given to the
inter-relationship with other adult education programs. |
| 215. Cooperative
Extension Communications
Second semester. Three credits.
Communication theory, methods, and skills relevant to the educational
functions of the Cooperative Extension Service. Acquaint students with
relationships among Extension objectives, clients and the communication
media. |
| 293.
Agriculture and Natural Resources Internship
Either semester or summer. One to six credits. Open to Junior - Senior
students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources with consent
of the Dean, the student's department head and advisor. This course may
be repeated for credit with the total credits earned not to exceed six.
This course is designed to provide students with a meaningful experience
in a formalized agricultural or natural resources program under supervised
conditions. Each student taking this course must submit a formal written
report for evaluation and meet all other course requirements as specified
by the instructor. |
