The Resource Economics major places a high priority on program flexibility and individualized attention. In addition to meeting the general education requirements of the University of Connecticut and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, students majoring in Resource Economics are expected to take a common core of courses.
Competency RequirementsAll Resource Economics majors must pass the following: ARE 1150 or ECON 1201. These coureses may also fulfill the general education requirements of the University. In order to fulfill the writing for the major requirement, all Resource Economics majors must pass one of the following: ARE 3261 or ARE 3440W
Concentrations in Resource EconomicsResource Economics majors may concentrate in one of the following areas: Marketing and Business Management, Environmental Economics and Policy, and International Development. Majors Choosing a concentration must take at least three courses from Group A and a sufficient number from Group B so that the total number of credits earned from both groups is at least 18.
