Economic and Engineering Evaluation of Alternative Strategies for Managing Sedimentation in Storage Reservoirs

Overview

Reservoir sedimentation is threatening the longevity and usefulness of dams in many parts of world. The RESCON project seeks to help sustain reservoirs through improved sediment management. It is the result of a unique interdisciplinary collaboration between economists and engineers.

This web page presents the available outcomes of RESCON research. These include publications and a computer software that allows assessment of various sediment management alternatives.

We hope that our efforts will encourage further study as well as actions for sustainable use of dams.
